
Black Forest Baked Alaska
A quick individual baked alaska: Madeira cake topped with cherry conserve and chocolate ice cream, blanketed in meringue and briefly baked. 25 Mins · Serves 4 · Price 59p per serving.

Ingredients
| 2 | large egg whites | |
| 100 g | caster sugar | |
| 4 slices | Asda Madeira Cake (about 2cm thick slices) | |
| 4 tbsp | 60 ml | Extra Special Cherry Conserve |
| 4 scoops | Extra Special Chocolate Ice Cream |
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 220C/200C Fan/Gas 7. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Whisk the egg whites until stiff, add the sugar a spoonful at a time, whisking each time, until glossy and forming peaks.
- Put the slices of madeira cake on the baking paper, leaving a generous gap around each slice. Spread a spoonful of cherry conserve over each piece and top with a scoop of chocolate ice cream.
- Spoon or pipe over the meringue, ensuring you cover all the ice cream and go right down to the base of the sponge.
- Put in the preheated oven for 5 mins or until the meringue is just starting to colour, then serve immediately.
