BLT in a Cloudy Bag
A classic bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich smoked twice with hickory — once under a dome, then sealed in a bag full of smoke for a portable smoky snack.
Ingredients
| 2 | lettuce leaves | |
| 4 | bacon slices | |
| 2 | tomato slices | |
| 2 tsp | 10 ml | mayonnaise |
| 1 slice | Swiss cheese | |
| 2 pieces | toasted bread | |
| — | hickory wood chips |
Instructions
- Cook the bacon for about 10 minutes, or until browned, then dab with a paper towel to remove excess grease.
- Set the bacon on a plate, place the smoking dome over it and connect the smoking gun hose.
- Load the gun with hickory chips, ignite them and let the dome fill; once full, turn off the gun and let the bacon infuse for 30 seconds.
- Spread mayonnaise on both slices of toasted bread.
- Assemble the lettuce, tomato, smoked bacon and Swiss cheese on one slice and top with the other.
- Place the sandwich in a ziplock bag and insert the smoking gun hose, then close the bag.
- Load the gun again with hickory chips, turn it on and ignite. Once the bag is full of smoke, let it set for 30 seconds — or seal it and pack it in your lunch box for snack time!
