Braised Pork Chops with Tomato Sauce and Capers
Pork chops oven-braised with onion, garlic, pureed tomatoes and capers. Serve with a garnish of your choice (the author's suggestion is sauteed potatoes).
Ingredients
| 4 pieces | pork chops | |
| 1 jar | tomatoes | |
| 1 head | onion | |
| 2-3 cloves | garlic | |
| 2 tbsp | 30 ml | capers - canned |
| — | salt | |
| — | black pepper | |
| 1 tsp | 5 ml | red pepper (paprika) |
Instructions
- Salt and pepper the chops. Arrange them in a small tray and sprinkle with oil. Add a little water and cover with foil. Bake at 200 degrees for about 20 minutes.
- Cut the onion into half-moons and finely chop the garlic. Add them to the chops. After a few minutes add the pureed tomatoes, the red pepper, and salt and black pepper to taste.
- Leave the dish in the oven for another 15 minutes. Finally add the capers and after 10 minutes remove the dish from the oven.
- Serve with a garnish of your choice (my suggestion is sauteed potatoes).
