Bubble Bread with Spices and Yellow Cheese
Small dough balls rolled in herbed butter and yellow cheese, arranged in a round pan so they bake into a pull-apart 'bubble' loaf.
Ingredients
| 1 и 1/3 ч.ч | fresh milk, room temperature 27 °C (half can be milk, half water) |
| 1 | egg |
| 2 с.л | oil |
| 1 с.л | sugar |
| 2 ч.л | salt |
| 4 ч.ч | sifted flour |
| 2 ч.л | yeast |
| 1 ч.ч | grated yellow cheese (kashkaval) |
| 4 с.л | melted butter |
| 1 ч.л | savory (chubritsa) |
| 1/3 ч.ч | finely chopped parsley |
Instructions
Place the first 7 ingredients in the bread machine and select the dough program.
10 minutes before the kneading cycle ends, add the yellow cheese.
After the program finishes, take the risen dough out of the machine's basket and divide it into 56 pieces (first divide the dough into 4, then each piece into 4 more, and the resulting ones into 4 more) and shape small balls.
Mix the butter, savory (chubritsa) and parsley in a small bowl.
Grease a round baking pan about 22 cm in size.
Roll each dough ball in the butter-and-spice mixture and place the balls in the pan in two rows, with the second row of balls between those of the first, not exactly one on top of the other.
Cover and leave in a warm place to rise about 45-60 minutes or until it doubles in volume.
Heat the oven to 190 °C (375 °F).
Bake about 30-35 minutes or until it acquires a golden color.
Remove from the pan immediately and leave for about 30 minutes on a rack.
Measures: 1 cup = 240 ml; 1 tsp = 5 ml; 1 tbsp = 15 ml.
