Buttery Garlic Steak and Mushroom Foil Packs
Sirloin chunks and mushrooms tossed in herbed garlic butter, sealed in foil packs and grilled to juicy perfection.
🍳 Cook: 15 min
Ingredients
| 1 lb | 455 g | top sirloin steak |
| 1/2 lb | 225 g | whole mushrooms, halved |
| 6 tbsp | 90 ml | butter, melted |
| 1/2 tsp | 2.5 ml | dried basil |
| 1/2 tsp | 2.5 ml | dried parsley |
| 1/2 tsp | 2.5 ml | dried thyme |
| 3 tsp | 15 ml | minced garlic |
| — | salt and pepper | |
| — | fresh thyme or parsley, for garnish |
Instructions
- Preheat the grill (or preheat the oven to 400°F / 200°C). Cut the steak into 2-inch chunks and place in a large bowl with the halved mushrooms.
- Stir together the melted butter, basil, parsley, thyme and garlic. Pour over the steak and mushrooms and toss to coat.
- Divide the steak and mushrooms between four large pieces of aluminum foil and wrap, pinching the edges together to seal each packet.
- Grill for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway to cook evenly, OR bake for 25-30 minutes until the steak reaches your desired doneness.
- Open the packets, garnish with chopped parsley or thyme and serve immediately.
Notes: You can wrap in parchment first, then foil. For extra colour, open the packets 2-3 minutes before done and finish the meat directly on the grates (or broil on high if baking).
