Cheese Eyes
Spooky Halloween cheese "eyeballs": rounds of white cheese painted with red veins, finished with a black-olive iris and a ketchup pupil.
Ingredients
| — | round of white cheese |
| — | black olives (sliced into rings) |
| — | red food coloring |
| — | ketchup or red jam (for the pupil) |
Instructions
Note: the source is a photo sequence with no written text; the method below is reconstructed from the step photos. Start with a round of white cheese (a small round of white cheese / Babybel-style disc). Using a fine brush and red food coloring (or a little ketchup / red gel), paint thin red veins across the surface of the cheese so it looks like a bloodshot eye. Slice black olives into rings and pat them dry on paper towel. Place a black olive ring on top of the cheese to form the iris. Fill the center of the olive ring with a dot of ketchup (or red jam) to make the pupil. Repeat with the remaining cheeses and serve.
