🍽️ Makes 26

Ingredients

1 cup240 mlwater
1/2 cup120 mlbutter
1 tbsp15 mlgranulated sugar
1 cup240 mlall-purpose flour
3eggs
1/2 tsp2.5 mlvanilla extract
1/2 cup120 mlgranulated sugar (for coating)
2 tsp10 mlcinnamon
3/4 cup180 mlchocolate chips (for the sauce)
1 tsp5 mlcoconut oil (for the sauce)

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan on the stove, bring water to a boil and stir in 1 tablespoon of the sugar and butter.
  2. Once melted, reduce heat to medium/low and fold in flour. Remove from heat.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs and vanilla extract.
  4. Slowly fold a few eggs into the dough. Keep repeating until eggs are well combined into the dough. Let cool.
  5. Place dough into a pastry bag with a star-shaped tip. (I'm actually using a Wilton decorator, pictured.) Pipe 6-inch long churros onto a parchment paper lined baking pan or a silicone mat.
  6. Place tray into the fridge to chill for about 30 minutes. (This makes your dough less sticky and easier to work with.)
  7. Place a single layer of churros, not touching each other, in the air fryer. Air fry for 10 minutes at 380 degrees.
  8. Mix cinnamon and 1/2 cup of the sugar together on a small plate.
  9. Once churros are done cooking, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture and place them on a cookie cooling rack. Repeat the process until all churros are cooked.
  10. To make the chocolate sauce, melt chocolate chips and coconut oil in a glass bowl using the microwave for about 20-30 seconds. Mix well and dip warm churros in the sauce to serve!

This recipe makes about 26, six-inch churros.
