Plug in and let your machine warm up (follow the instructions on your machine). My machine is made by Cuisinart. I find that the heat setting 3 works good. Some pizzelle makers make bigger cookies than others. I use a 1/2 tablespoon measuring spoon to spoon the dough into each side. Set the timer for 1 min. Check your cookies and adjust time accordingly. Once they are done, set them on a cooling rack. Spray a light mist of water on all of the finished cookies, then sprinkle some cotton candy sugar on top and let stand for about 10 min.

Store in an airtight container. I don't know exactly how long the will last. They are usually gone before I have to worry about silly stuff like shelf life. :)

Other serving suggestions:

  • Drizzle some chocolate on top
  • Eat as is without the sugar on top
  • Directly out of the pizzelle maker you can shape them into a bowl for ice cream and other fun treats.
  • You can also make them into sandwich cookies by filling them with whipped cream or anything you can think of.
