Garlic Soy Marinated Beef Slices
A bold, straightforward marinade built on nothing but garlic and soy lets the quality of the beef speak clearly — this recipe never gets old.
Ingredients
| 1 lb (450g) | beef, sliced thin (sirloin, chuck, or rib eye) | |
| 3 tablespoons | 45 ml | soy sauce |
| 5 cloves | garlic, minced | |
| 1 tablespoon | 15 ml | sake |
| 1 tablespoon | 15 ml | sesame oil |
| 1 teaspoon | 5 ml | sugar |
| 1/2 teaspoon | 2.5 ml | cracked black pepper |
| — | green onion, chopped, to garnish |
Instructions
- Combine soy sauce, garlic, sake, sesame oil, sugar, and pepper. Mix well.
- Coat beef slices and marinate for 1 hour, or up to overnight.
- Grill over very high heat for 1 to 2 minutes per side until slightly charred at the edges.
- Garnish with green onion and serve immediately.
