Instructions
LEAN VERSION: Saute the onion and the carrot in half a cup of olive oil, add the rice which has been washed and drained beforehand, and saute it too until glossy. Then add the vegetable broth and the spices and cook until half done. After that take a cake pan and line it - along the bottom and the sides - with the grape leaves. Once the grape leaves are arranged, pour the ready-to-eat filling of mince, onion and rice inside the pan. Brush generously with olive oil, arrange grape leaves neatly on top, fill with the rice, pour in a little water, and cover the top with grape leaves as well. All that is left is to pour over one or two cups of water and put your grape-leaf delicacy into the oven to bake. The temperature is no more than 200 degrees and the baking time is about 50 minutes.
MEAT VERSION: First saute the onion, then the rice, and finally saute the mince together with them. Then add the spices such as salt, savory, curry, red pepper, black pepper and cumin. Then pour in two cups of warm water into the pot with them and leave them to simmer, but on reduced heat. From time to time it is good to stir so nothing burns of this delicacy. After that take a cake pan and line it - along the bottom and the sides - with the grape leaves. Once the grape leaves are arranged, pour the ready-to-eat filling of mince, onion and rice inside the pan. Distribute it so it is even everywhere in the pan and finally cover this whole beauty with grape leaves. Take care to have leaves all around. All that is left is to pour over one or two cups of water and put your grape-leaf delicacy into the oven to bake. The temperature is no more than 200 degrees and the baking time is about 50 minutes.
