
Homemade Bacon Blue Cheese Tator Tots
Easy to make and delicious, the bacon and blue cheese burst with flavor.
Ingredients
| 6 strips | Bacon | |
| 2 whole | Large Russet Potatoes, Peeled | |
| 2 Tablespoons | 30 ml | Flour |
| 1 teaspoon | 5 ml | Salt |
| ½ teaspoons | 2.5 ml | Pepper |
| 2 cloves | Fresh Garlic, Finely Chopped | |
| 10 teaspoons | 50 ml | Blue Cheese |
| 1 quart | 945 ml | Oil, For Frying |
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400ºF.
- Cook bacon for 10 minutes until crisp. Let cool and then chop.
- Peel potatoes and add to a pot of water. Parboil for 6–7 minutes. Drain, let dry, and cool potatoes before shredding finely with a cheese grater.
- Mix flour, salt, pepper, chopped garlic and chopped bacon with the potato mixture. Assemble mixture into large tots and stuff each tot with 1 teaspoon blue cheese.
- Heat oil in a fry pot to 350ºF. Fry each tot for 3–4 minutes until golden brown and crispy on the outside.
