
Kolkata Special Fulori (Deep Fried Chickpea Street Snack)
A popular deep-fried chickpea-flour fritter street snack from Kolkata, India.

Ingredients
| 1/2 cup | 120 ml | Channa besan (chickpea flour) |
| 1/4 cup | 60 ml | Urad besan (black lentil flour) |
| 1/2 tablespoon | 7.5 ml | Salt |
| 1/2 tablespoon | 7.5 ml | Eating soda or baking powder |
| 2-3 pieces | Green chilli, chopped | |
| 1/2 tablespoon | 7.5 ml | Kala zeere (onion seeds) |
| — | Oil for frying |
Instructions
- Mix channa besan, urad besan, salt, baking powder, kala zeere and green chilli.
- Add the required amount of water to make a thick batter.
- Whisk the batter with an egg beater to make it soft.
- Keep it for 30 minutes.
- Now heat oil in a pan and pour a tablespoon of batter into the oil. Let it rise and form falaudi. Fry till it turns light brown.
- Serve with tea.
Footnotes: You may also add ajwain to make it easier to digest.
