Ingredients
| 1 1/2 cups (195 g) | White flour | |
| 1/2 cup (60 g) | Wheat starch | |
| 1/4 tsp | 1.3 ml | Salt |
| 1/4 cup (30 g) | Powdered sugar | |
| 1 cup (230 g) | Soft butter, room temperature | |
| 1 tsp | 5 ml | Pure vanilla extract |
| 1/2 cup | 120 ml | Powdered sugar, for dusting |
Instructions
- Put the softened butter in a bowl. Turn the mixer on low speed and beat the butter. Add the powdered sugar and beat gradually to get a uniform mixture. Add the vanilla.
- In another bowl mix the flour, starch and salt. Add gradually to the butter mixture. You will get a smooth and uniform dough. When ready, put the dough, covered with foil, in the refrigerator to firm up.
- Line 2 baking trays with parchment paper. Take out the dough, form balls about 2.5 cm in diameter, a little smaller than a walnut. Bake for about 10-15 minutes at 180°C in a preheated oven. The cookies should remain soft to the touch — this is the moment when you should take them out of the oven. The edges may begin to lightly turn pink. Cool them for about 5 minutes on a wire rack. Finally, dust generously with powdered sugar. I rolled them and they turned out excellent.
Note: The cookies are very suitable for long storage. They last up to 3 weeks in a tightly closed box, of course if they aren't devoured immediately :) Enjoy and I wish everyone success!
Time: prep 25 minutes; chilling the dough 1 or 2 hours; baking 11 to 15 minutes.
