
Mojito with Hickory Wood Chips
A classic Cuban mojito of white rum, lime and mint, poured into a globe glass and finished with a wisp of hickory smoke.
Ingredients
| 2 tbsp | 30 ml | fresh lime juice |
| 2 heaping tsp | superfine sugar | |
| 1 cup | 240 ml | crushed ice |
| 12 | fresh mint leaves, plus 5 sprigs for garnish | |
| 1/4 cup | 60 ml | white rum |
| 2 tbsp | 30 ml | club soda |
| — | hickory wood chips |
Instructions
- In a separate glass, stir the lime juice and sugar until the sugar dissolves. Add 1/4 cup of the crushed ice.
- Rub the mint leaves over the rim of the glass, then tear the leaves in half and add them to the glass. Gently stir for 15 seconds, then add the rum and remaining crushed ice. Gently stir for 5 seconds.
- Add mint leaves and ice to a cocktail ball (globe glass) and pour in the mojito, then add the club soda.
- Insert the smoking gun hose (with hickory wood chips) and smoke the cocktail, then let the smoke immerse the drink for a minute or two.
- Add a straw, garnish with the mint sprigs, and enjoy!
