No-Bake Cherries

Homemade no-bake sweet 'cherries' shaped from a rich biscuit-and-walnut dough, tinted red and finished with pine-needle 'stems'.

Ingredients

2 boxesboxes of biscuits — plain, tea or other, but without chocolate glaze
2 packscow's butter (1 large pack of 250 grams)
1 tea cupground walnuts
1 tea cuppowdered sugar
granulated sugar for rolling
2 pcspowdered vanilla
3egg yolks
red confectioner's food coloring

Instructions

  1. Let the butter soften. Mix the soft butter with the powdered sugar and the vanilla.
  2. Add the ground walnuts and the biscuits — also ground.
  3. Add the egg yolks and mix well.
  4. You will get a thick dough, from which you should form little balls — your cherries.
  5. To make them look like real cherries, color them with red confectioner's food coloring.
  6. To give the colored cherries an even more radiant look, roll them in crystal (granulated) sugar.
  7. To make your sweets look like real cherries, insert pine needles (because they are longer), which will play the role of stems.

Note: If you have no pine needles on hand, use small cocktail swords or those with little animals and flowers.
