Ingredients
| 1 1/2 cups | 360 ml | whole milk |
| 1 cup | 240 ml | heavy cream (or dairy-free alternative) |
| 1/4 cup | 60 ml | honey (or maple syrup) |
| 1 tsp | 5 ml | vanilla extract |
| 1 cup | 240 ml | fresh or frozen cherries, pitted and halved |
| 1/4 cup | 60 ml | dark chocolate chunks |
Instructions
- Mix the Base: In a mixing bowl, combine the whole milk, heavy cream, honey, and vanilla extract. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and the honey is fully dissolved.
- Freeze the Mixture: Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container. Ensure it does not exceed the fill line. Freeze for at least 24 hours on a level surface.
- Process the Ice Cream: After freezing, remove the pint from the freezer and place it in the Ninja Creami. Select the Ice Cream function and process until creamy.
- Add Mix-Ins: Once processed, create a tunnel in the center of the ice cream using a spoon. Add the halved cherries and dark chocolate chunks into the tunnel.
- Re-Spin for Creaminess: Return the pint to the Ninja Creami and use the Mix-Ins function to incorporate the cherries and chocolate evenly. If needed, use the Re-Spin function for a creamier consistency.
- Serve and Enjoy: Scoop out and enjoy immediately, or store leftovers in the freezer.
Tips: Use fresh, in-season cherries for the best flavor and nutrition (if using frozen, ensure they are pitted and thawed). Choose dark chocolate with at least 70% cocoa. Adjust the amount of honey or maple syrup based on the natural sweetness of the cherries.
