The Machine

An overview of the Ninja Swirl by CREAMi appliance, its parts, one-touch programmes, and freezer and re-processing tips.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Getting to Know the Ninja Swirl by CREAMi — this is not a blender.

    • Do NOT process a solid block of ice or ice cubes.
    • Do NOT make a smoothie or process hard, loose ingredients.
    • Fruit must be crushed to release juices, or combined with other ingredients, before freezing and processing.
  2. Lights

    • Install Light: illuminates when the unit is not fully assembled. When processing, a blinking install light means the outer bowl or paddle isn't installed properly; when dispensing, it means the dispense lid isn't installed.
    • Ready Light: stays solid once all parts are correctly installed, until processing or dispensing begins.
  3. Processing Mode & Timer

    • Some programs illuminate under both SCOOP and SOFT SERVE. Programs under SCOOP give harder, denser results; programs under SOFT SERVE give softer, lighter results. If you plan to dispense your creation, use SOFT SERVE mode.
    • The Countdown Timer counts down remaining program time in minutes; time may vary based on the temperature of the mixture/base.
  4. One-Touch Programs Create CREAMi classics — Ice Cream, Sorbet, Lite Ice Cream, Gelato, Milkshake, Frozen Yoghurt — plus 6 Soft Serve programs: Soft Serve, Frozen Yoghurt, Soft Serve Gelato, Fruiti, Lite Ice Cream, and CreamiFit, and the Mix-In program.

  5. Processing Tools Outer Bowl Lid (locks the Creamerizer Paddle in place); Creamerizer Paddle (dual-function paddle that finely shaves and mixes frozen ingredients into smooth, creamy textures); CREAMi Swirl Tubs (BPA-free tubs for making and storing CREAMi treats, each with a pre-installed nozzle); Outer Bowl (securely holds the tub during processing) → Ready to Process.

  6. Dispensing Tools Dispense Lid + Swirl Press (locks the Swirl Press into place; comes pre-installed, removable for cleaning); CREAMi Swirl Tub (dispenses soft serve creations through the built-in nozzle) → Ready to Dispense.

  7. Understanding the Key Programmes Ninja Swirl by CREAMi brings the ice cream parlour experience home: creamy soft serve, classic ice cream, refreshing sorbet, indulgent gelato, frozen yoghurt, or milkshakes are all ready at the touch of a button, with MIX-IN and RE-SPIN to fine-tune texture.

  8. Soft Serve Programmes

    • Ice Cream: a light, airy soft serve twist on classic flavours like chocolate and vanilla.
    • Lite Soft Serve: classic soft serve with low sugar or sugar-alternative options; suitable for paleo or vegan recipes.
    • Fruiti: a rich fruit base for a sweet, tangy, refreshing alternative to creamy ice cream — ideal for summer.
    • Soft Serve Gelato: transforms rich gelato into a creamy, swirlable soft serve; use only for custard-based recipes containing egg.
    • Frozen Yoghurt: turns shop-bought yoghurt or milk into a light, airy treat.
    • CreamiFit: whips higher-protein, lower-calorie, lower-sugar bases into light soft serve or scoopable ice cream.
  9. Scoop Programmes

    • Ice Cream: thick, creamy scoopable versions of your favourite dairy or dairy-alternative recipes.
    • Lite Ice Cream: indulgent scoopable ice cream with low sugar or sugar-alternative ingredients; suitable for keto, paleo, and vegan recipes.
    • Sorbet: a sweeter, scoopable CREAMi twist on classic fruit-based sorbet.
    • Gelato: a heated cream, egg yolk, and milk base processed into a rich Italian-style frozen treat; use only for custard-based recipes containing egg.
    • Frozen Yoghurt: a thicker, scoopable frozen yoghurt made from shop-bought or homemade yoghurt.
    • Milkshake: combines ice cream with milk and mix-ins for a thick, indulgent milkshake.
  10. Mix-In & Re-Spin

    • Mix-In: folds in sweets, biscuits, nuts, cereal, or frozen fruit to customise your treat (not recommended for soft serve recipes).
    • Re-Spin: restores a smooth texture after a preset program, especially when the base is very cold and crumbly (not recommended when mix-ins have been added).
  11. Freezer & Processing Tips

    • Adjust your freezer to between -13°C and -20°C — the CREAMi Swirl is designed to process bases within this range.
    • Place the Swirl Tub on a level surface; don't process a base that froze at an angle or was unevenly re-frozen (if uneven, melt, whisk, and re-freeze level).
    • Upright freezers work best; avoid chest freezers, which tend to reach extremely cold temperatures.
    • Freeze for 24 hours — the tub needs to reach an even, colder temperature before processing. Prepare and use bases within two weeks for the best quality and flavour.
    • Chill your bowl in the freezer while the tub is processing to prevent melting.
    • Pre-frozen ingredients taste less sweet once processed, so don't worry if the base tastes too sweet beforehand.
    • For recipes like gelato that need cooling, use an ice bath: nestle a smaller bowl with your base inside a larger bowl of ice and water; once cool to the touch, pour into the Swirl Tub and freeze.
    • Note: the Creamerizer Paddle sits in the centre without touching the tub walls, so a thin wall of unprocessed ice cream after processing is normal.
  12. Re-Freezing & Re-Processing Leftovers

    • For Scoop treats: flatten the top of the frozen treat with a spoon or spatula before refreezing. If it's hard after refreezing, process again on the same program; if soft, just scoop and enjoy. Reprocessing a treat with mix-ins will further crush them and create a new flavour.
    • For Soft Serve treats: close the tub base, remove the nozzle, and rinse out any remaining ice cream with water before refreezing. When ready to enjoy again, process on the same program and dispense.
    • Frozen treats on demand: prep several Swirl Tubs at once, or fill a tub only halfway for a smaller treat — there's no minimum fill quantity. Keep tubs in the freezer to Creamify on demand whenever the craving strikes.
