Orange Butter Pizzelle

Ingredients
| 8 drops | yellow food coloring | |
| ¾ cup | 180 ml | white sugar |
| 4 drops | red food coloring | |
| 1¾ cup | 420 ml | all-purpose flour |
| 1 tbsp | 15 ml | orange extract |
| ½ cup | 120 ml | butter |
| 3 | eggs | |
| 1 tsp | 5 ml | baking powder |
| 2 tsp | 10 ml | triple sec |
| 2 tsp | 10 ml | orange zest |
Instructions
- Put the flour and baking powder in a bowl and sift them together.
- With a medium-speed electric mixer, beat the eggs in a large bowl. Add the sugar slowly as you go, mixing the whole time until the mixture gets thick.
- Slowly beat in the melted butter until everything is well mixed.
- Combine the orange extract, triple sec, yellow food coloring and red food coloring.
- Add the sifted flour and baking powder and stir until the batter is stiff and smooth. Grate the orange zest and mix it in.
- Grease the pizzelle baker and heat it.
- Use a small ice cream scoop or tablespoon cookie scoop to put the batter on the hot pizzelle baker. Bake for 30 to 40 seconds or until browned. Place on a cooling rack to cool down completely.
