Orange Peel Liqueur
A homemade Balkan-style liqueur made by steeping orange peel in rakia (fruit brandy) and sweetening with syrup. Placed in the book's Latin/Spanish section, but the use of rakia makes it a Bulgarian home recipe.

Ingredients
| 3 pcs | Oranges, larger |
| 250-300 ml | Strong rakia (fruit brandy) |
| 250 ml | Water (for diluting the rakia) |
| 500 g | Sugar |
| 500 ml | Water (for the syrup) |
Instructions
- Cut the orange peels into cubes and cover them with 250-300 ml of strong rakia diluted with half its volume of water.
- Cover the vessel tightly and let it steep in a warm place for 1 full day (24 hours).
- Strain the aromatized liquid and, for every litre of it, add syrup made from the water and sugar.
- Strain the liqueur and store it in bottles.
