Six ingredient variations of the classic Filipino soft breakfast roll (pandesal): classic, whole wheat, cheese, coconut, ube and garlic.

- WHOLE WHEAT PANDESAL Ingredients:
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar

- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- CHEESE PANDESAL Ingredients:

- UBE PANDESAL Ingredients:
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp instant yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk (warm)
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup ube halaya
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- GARLIC PANDESAL Ingredients:
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp instant yeast
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 cup milk (warm)
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
(Reconstructed / classic proportions — the source had only ingredient lists and no method.) For any variation: dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm milk (or coconut milk) and let it foam. Mix in the flour and salt, then work in the softened butter (plus cheese, coconut, ube or garlic and parsley for the flavoured versions) and knead into a smooth, elastic dough. Cover and proof until doubled, about 1 hour. Divide into equal balls, roll each in bread crumbs, arrange on a lined tray and proof again for 30-45 minutes until puffy. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 15-18 minutes until golden.
