Pear Pie
A lattice-topped pear pie with a spiced pear filling of cinnamon and nutmeg. Note: you need at least another 1/2 batch of the dough for it to be enough.
Ingredients
| 250 g | flour (for the dough) | |
| 125 g | butter (for the dough) | |
| 60 g | sugar, preferably brown (for the dough) | |
| 2 | eggs (for the dough) | |
| 1/2 tsp | 2.5 ml | baking powder (for the dough) |
| 1 pinch | salt (for the dough) | |
| 1 tbsp sugar + 1/2 tsp cinnamon | brown sugar and cinnamon for sprinkling (optional) | |
| 6-7 | well-ripened pears (not the largest, not overripe) | |
| 60 g | brown sugar (for the filling) | |
| 2 tbsp | 30 ml | starch (for the filling) |
| 1 tsp | 5 ml | cinnamon (for the filling) |
| 1/2 tsp | 2.5 ml | nutmeg (for the filling) |
Instructions
Prepare the dough for the pie using the instructions from "sweets and dough".
Make the filling by cutting the pears into small pieces and adding all the remaining seasonings. Mix well.
- Line the bottom and sides of the baking tin tightly (with a diameter of about 22 cm). Pour in the pear filling and arrange the strips of dough, crossing and weaving them into a lattice in the classic pie style. On top you can sprinkle with 1 tsp brown sugar and 1/2 tsp cinnamon mixed together.
- Bake for about 45-50 minutes in an oven preheated to 180°C.
