Ball Bun (Pull-Apart Bread)
And also to lift my spirits with kneading, which I hadn't tried for nearly two and a half months :) :).
Ingredients
| 200 g | warm fresh milk |
| 20 g | fresh yeast |
| 2 level tbsp | sugar |
| 1 level tbsp | salt |
| 1 + 1 | egg and yolk (for the dough) |
| 90 g | oil |
| 500 g | flour |
| 50-60 g | melted butter |
Instructions
- Dissolve the yeast with half of the sugar in the warm fresh milk and leave briefly to activate.
- Add the remaining products and the flour in parts, stirring energetically, then knead into a soft dough, which is covered and left in a warm place to rise until doubled.
- Divide the risen dough into numerous small balls, which are dipped in the melted butter and arranged in a suitable baking form. Pour/brush the rest of the butter over the top and leave the bun to rise.
- Bake in a cold (unheated) oven at 170–190°C until done.
Layered bread variant (same dough): Roll the risen dough into a not-too-thin rectangular sheet. Brush with melted butter, then cut into square pieces, which are arranged standing upright, one next to the other, in a suitable form. Leave to rise and bake, again in a cold oven, at 170–190°C.
