Ball Bun (Pull-Apart Bread)

And also to lift my spirits with kneading, which I hadn't tried for nearly two and a half months :) :).

Ingredients

200 gwarm fresh milk
20 gfresh yeast
2 level tbspsugar
1 level tbspsalt
1 + 1egg and yolk (for the dough)
90 goil
500 gflour
50-60 gmelted butter

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast with half of the sugar in the warm fresh milk and leave briefly to activate.
  2. Add the remaining products and the flour in parts, stirring energetically, then knead into a soft dough, which is covered and left in a warm place to rise until doubled.
  3. Divide the risen dough into numerous small balls, which are dipped in the melted butter and arranged in a suitable baking form. Pour/brush the rest of the butter over the top and leave the bun to rise.
  4. Bake in a cold (unheated) oven at 170–190°C until done.

Layered bread variant (same dough): Roll the risen dough into a not-too-thin rectangular sheet. Brush with melted butter, then cut into square pieces, which are arranged standing upright, one next to the other, in a suitable form. Leave to rise and bake, again in a cold oven, at 170–190°C.
