Dough-Ball Bread (Pitka na topcheta)

A soft pull-apart bread of many small dough balls dipped in melted butter. "And also to indulge in kneading, which I hadn't tried in nearly two and a half months :) :) ."

Ingredients

200 гwarm fresh milk
20 гfresh yeast
2 равни супени лъжициsugar
1 равна супена лъжицаsalt
1 бр.egg and 1 yolk (both for the dough)
90 гoil
500 гflour
50-60 гmelted butter

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast with half of the sugar in the warm fresh milk and leave briefly to activate.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and the flour in parts, stirring energetically, then knead to a soft dough. Cover and leave in a warm place to rise until doubled.
  3. Divide the risen dough into numerous small balls, dip them in the melted butter and arrange them in a suitable baking tin. Pour / brush the remaining butter over the top and leave the loaf to rise again.
  4. Bake in an unheated (cold) oven at 170–190 °C until done.

A layered little bread by the same dough recipe: Roll the risen dough into a not-too-thin rectangular sheet. Brush with melted butter, then cut into square pieces, which are stood upright, one next to another, in a suitable tin. Leave to rise and bake, again in an unheated oven at 170–190 °C.
