Drunken Cherries
Bite-sized balls of butter, sugar and ground biscuits with caramelized walnuts, rolled in grated chocolate and each hiding a rum-soaked sour cherry in the center.
Ingredients
| 250 g | butter |
| 250 g | powdered sugar |
| 250 g | plain biscuits |
| 1 | egg |
| 1 shot glass | rum or cognac |
| 2-3 packets | vanilla |
| 1 tea cup | chopped and caramelized walnuts |
| 1 tea cup | sugar |
| — | grated chocolate (for coating) |
| — | chocolate sticks or ground walnuts |
| — | sour cherries |
Instructions
- Leave the sour cherries to soak in rum or cognac for a few days; you can pit them beforehand.
- Beat the butter with the sugar and add the ground biscuits, the caramelized walnuts, the beaten egg and the vanilla. Stir the mixture together.
- Shape into balls the size of walnuts and roll them in grated chocolate or ground walnuts. In the center of each ball make a hole and place one sour cherry in it.
