Pressure Cooker Steak

Usually my mom prepares the dish according to the ingredients I list below. However, once in a while she uses grated tomatoes instead of sliced ones and adds 1 tbsp of tomato paste.

Ingredients

4steaks, cut ~1/4 inch thick
3potatoes, peeled and thickly sliced
3tomatoes, thickly sliced
4green chilies / banana peppers (anaheims), seeded
1 tsp5 mloregano leaf
1 tsp5 mlblack pepper
1 tbsp15 mlolive oil
salt

Instructions

For four.

  1. Place steaks at the bottom of the pressure cooker; it's ok if they overlap.
  2. Place potato slices on steaks.
  3. Cover all with tomato slices.
  4. Put green peppers on top.
  5. Sprinkle salt, oregano leaf and black pepper.
  6. Pour 1 tbsp olive oil.
  7. Pour water to barely cover steaks and vegetables.
  8. Cover and pressure cook on meat or high setting on medium to low heat for 20-25 minutes. If you have a not-so-good cut of steak, cook for 30 minutes.
  9. Serve with rice and/or crusty bread.

Do not let the simplicity of pressure cooker steak mislead you; oregano is the key ingredient.
