Instructions

The recipe for red Red Velvet crinkle cookies is for lovers of two of the most popular recipes of the moment - cocoa crinkle cookies and Red Velvet cake. A wonderful and very attractive combination of the two. Like cocoa crinkle cookies, the Red Velvet crinkle cookies are just as attractive and also have a cocoa flavor, but since they contain significantly less cocoa the chocolate taste is lighter. Suitable for Christmas and for Valentine's Day, they make a wonderful idea for an impressive gift.

  1. The first step is preparing the liquid mixture. All products should be at room temperature. Beat the eggs together with the sugar using a mixer, a whisk, or simply a fork. Add the oil and beat again. Sift the flour together with the cocoa, baking powder and salt.
  2. Little by little, while beating continuously, add the flour mixture to the liquid mixture and add the red coloring. You can use either liquid or powder coloring. Beat with a mixer or whisk at the start, but toward the end it is best to stir with a spoon since the mixture becomes very thick. Put the resulting dough in a bag and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes. You can also prepare the dough, put it in the freezer, and bake the cookies even after a few days.
  3. After about 30 minutes, remove the dough from the fridge. Form balls from the dough and roll them in powdered sugar. Arrange the balls on a tray lined with baking paper. Bake the red Red Velvet crinkle cookies in a preheated 180°C oven for about 12 minutes.
