Rosu – Sirloin Thin Sliced
Leaner than ribeye but full of character, thin-sliced sirloin crisps at the edges while staying tender in the center.
Ingredients
| 1 lb (450g) | sirloin steak, partially frozen and sliced 2 to 3mm thin | |
| 2 tablespoons | 30 ml | soy sauce |
| 1 tablespoon | 15 ml | sake |
| 1 tablespoon | 15 ml | mirin |
| 1 teaspoon | 5 ml | sugar |
| 1 teaspoon | 5 ml | sesame oil |
| 2 cloves | garlic, minced | |
| pinch | cracked black pepper |
Instructions
- Partially freeze the sirloin and slice as thin as possible across the grain. 2. Mix soy sauce, sake, mirin, sugar, sesame oil, and garlic in a small bowl. 3. Lightly brush each slice with the marinade or serve the sauce on the side. 4. Heat the grill to high. 5. Grill each slice for 45 to 60 seconds per side. Finish with a pinch of cracked black pepper and serve immediately.
