It withstands both heat and cold. Still, it should not be allowed to dry out too much.
Location: Sunny, warm and sheltered from wind.
Substrate: Clay-sandy calcareous garden soil; optimal soil.
Cultivation: Outdoors it is sown in April/May, and indoors earlier is possible. The seeds are covered lightly with soil — it germinates in the dark.
Watering, feeding: During the growing period it is kept rather dry than moist. Fertilized every 4-6 weeks.
Other care: In autumn it is pruned by half.
Overwintering: Outdoors with winter protection. In spring it can be shortened once more.
