Slow Cooker Honey Chicken (with quinoa)

Slow cooker honey chicken - super easy recipe to make and absolutely delicious! The chicken comes out tender every time. This slow cooker honey sesame chicken is one of those quick and easy delicious recipes. The chicken has such a unique flavor and leaves your family begging for more! This dish is also pretty healthy - you can cut back on the honey to make it even more healthy.

Ingredients

1.5 - 2 pounds680–905 gchicken breasts
1/2 cup120 mlsoy sauce (low-sodium)
1/2 cup120 mlhoney
1 TBolive oil
1 tsp5 mlonion powder
2 clovesgarlic, minced
1 tsp5 mlkosher salt
1/2 tsp2.5 mlpepper
Sliced green onions, optional
Sesame seeds, optional
Cooked quinoa or rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in a crock pot. Combine the soy sauce, honey, olive oil, onion powder, garlic, salt and pepper in a medium bowl. Stir until combined. Pour the sauce over the chicken. Cook on low for 3-4 hours, or until the chicken easily falls apart.
  2. Serve the chicken over cooked quinoa. Add extra sauce and top with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Enjoy! If you like lots of sauce, feel free to double the recipe. We love to serve this honey soy chicken over rice or quinoa, but it also tastes great in lettuce wraps or over a salad. Sometimes with the leftover chicken we'll even make tacos or nachos. The possibilities are endless.
