Ingredients

2 cups480 mlarugula lettuce
1cucumber
4cherry tomatoes
2 tsp10 mlginger, minced
1 tbsp15 mlcayenne pepper
2 tbsp30 mlfresh lemon juice
purified water
4-5ice cubes

Instructions

If you want to take a break from sweet smoothies, this is the perfect pick. A combination of leafy greens, a tomato and a cucumber will give you a whole lot of vitamins but a lot less calories – something you want (and need) for shedding those extra pounds.

I like to add some cayenne pepper to this recipe for more depth in taste. Cayenne pepper is best known for helping speed up metabolism. According to the British newspaper The Sun, a published study by food scientist Stephen Whiting, shows consuming capsaicin, cayenne's active ingredient, causes an adrenaline rush. This sends a signal to brain to burn fat cells, especially in the stomach area.
