Wasabi Peas from Scratch
Crunchy dried peas coated in a searing wasabi-flour crust — once you make these from scratch, the store-bought kind feels like a compromise.

Ingredients
| 1 cup (200g) | dried green peas, soaked overnight and drained | |
| 1/2 cup (60g) | all-purpose flour | |
| 2 tablespoons | 30 ml | wasabi powder |
| 1 tablespoon | 15 ml | sugar |
| 1 tablespoon | 15 ml | soy sauce |
| 1 teaspoon | 5 ml | salt |
| 2 tablespoons | 30 ml | water |
Instructions
- Dry the soaked and drained peas thoroughly on a paper towel. 2. Mix flour, wasabi powder, sugar, salt, soy sauce, and water into a thick paste. 3. Toss peas in the wasabi paste until well coated. 4. Spread on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 15–20 minutes until dry and crunchy. 5. Let cool completely before serving — they continue to crisp as they cool.
