
Baked Beans with Smoked Bacon

Ingredients
| 2 консерви | canned red beans (about 800 g) |
| 2 консерви | canned white beans (about 800 g) |
| 2 – 3 с.л. | concentrated tomato puree |
| 200 мл | tomato sauce |
| 250 г | smoked bacon |
| 2 | onions |
| 3 – 4 | garlic cloves |
| 2 | sprigs thyme |
| 1 ч.л. | smoked mint |
| 1 ч.л. | red pepper (paprika) |
| 30 мл | oil |
| 1 – 2 | sprigs fresh mint |
| — | salt and black pepper |
Instructions
- Chop the onion and garlic finely and sweat them in the heated oil. Add the smoked bacon, cut into cubes, and cook until it becomes slightly crispy. Finally add the tomato puree and fry for 1–2 minutes.
- When ready, transfer the bacon to a baking dish, add the tomato sauce and both kinds of beans, which have been rinsed beforehand and well drained. Stir and season with salt, black and red pepper, thyme and mint.
- Bake for about 20–25 minutes in an oven preheated to 180°C.
