Chapaguri (Ram-Don) — Parasite Recipe
The Korean instant-noodle mash-up (Chapagetti + Neoguri) made famous by the film Parasite, dressed up with seared steak.
Ingredients
| 1 package | Neoguri, Korean spicy seafood instant ramen noodles | |
| 1 package | Chapagetti, Korean jjajang instant ramen noodles | |
| 2 tsp | 10 ml | Cooking oil |
| 12 oz | 340 g | Beef steak (sirloin, ribeye cap or New York strip), cut into 1" chunks |
| 1/2 tsp | 2.5 ml | Garlic salt |
| 1/4 tsp | 1.3 ml | Black pepper |
| 1 tsp | 5 ml | Unsalted butter |
Instructions
- Bring enough water to boil to cook 2 packages of Korean instant ramen. Heat a large skillet over high heat. Drop both noodles and the dehydrated vegetable mixture (no seasoning packages yet!) into the boiling water and cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
- Meanwhile, add the steak chunks to the preheated skillet and sprinkle with garlic salt and black pepper. Cook the steak, searing evenly on all sides, about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add the cooked noodles to the steak along with both seasoning packages and the butter. Add 1/2 to 3/4 cup of the ramen noodle water into the skillet and mix everything together until well combined, about 1 minute. Add 2 tbsp more ramen noodle water as needed. Transfer to a serving bowl and enjoy!
