Cheesesteak Casserole
A baked casserole inspired by the Philly cheesesteak, combining seasoned ground beef, peppers, onions, melty Velveeta cheese and macaroni.
Ingredients
| 1.5 pounds | 680 g | ground beef |
| 1 tsp | 5 ml | black pepper |
| 1 tsp | 5 ml | garlic powder |
| 1 tsp | 5 ml | italian seasoning |
| 2 | green peppers, chopped | |
| 2 | onions, chopped | |
| 12 ounces | 340 g | Velveeta cheese |
| 1 pound | 455 g | macaroni |
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Season ground beef with pepper, italian seasoning and garlic powder and brown the beef, draining fat off when cooked.
- Saute peppers and onions together until cooked.
- While the peppers and onions are sauteing, cook the 1 pound of macaroni noodles.
- When peppers and onions are done, add the cooked ground beef.
- Slice up the Velveeta and add to the pan to begin to melt (it only needs to stay on the stove for 2-3 minutes; it's ok if it's not fully melted).
- Add in the macaroni (use a large bowl to mix everything).
- Place in a 9x13 baking dish and bake for 15-20 minutes.
