Cherries in Cognac
Ingredients
| 250 g | cherries (or sour cherries) |
| 250 g | sugar |
| 100 ml | water |
| 1 | vanilla pod (optional) |
| 1 | cinnamon stick |
| 5 | cloves |
| 200 ml | cognac |
Instructions
- Wash the cherries and remove the stems, being careful not to damage the fruit, and place them in a glass jar.
- Bring the water and sugar to a boil, add the spices, skim off the foam and leave to cool completely.
- Pour the cognac into the sugar syrup, remove the spices and pour the resulting mixture over the cherries in the jar.
- Leave to stand for 3 months in a light place, but not in direct sunlight.
- The drunken cherries are suitable for making candies, cakes, desserts and more.
- The resulting liqueur is very drinkable, suitable for all kinds of recipes.
