Dracula's Blood Punch
A blood-red spiced cherry punch simmered with orange peel, chili, cinnamon, cloves and ginger, served with jelly Dracula teeth for a spooky Halloween drink.
Ingredients
| 2 l | cherry juice |
| 3 | peel of 3 oranges, cut into strips with a potato peeler |
| 1 | thumb-sized red chili pepper, pricked in several places but left whole |
| 3 | cinnamon sticks |
| 10 | cloves |
| 6 | thin slices fresh ginger |
| — | jelly Dracula teeth (from the candy aisle), for serving (optional) |
Instructions
Pour the cherry juice, orange peel, chili pepper, cinnamon sticks, cloves and ginger into a pot. Let the drink simmer for 5 minutes, then remove from the heat. Leave to cool for at least 4 hours or up to 2 days - the longer you leave it, the richer its flavor will be. If you are serving it to small children, remove the chili pepper after a few hours. When you are ready to serve, pour the juice into a pitcher. Serve in glass jars or cups and add a straw to each. Hook the Dracula teeth onto each glass. TIP: For an adult party, add a little vodka before serving and you will get an alcoholic cocktail.
