Pork Chops and Apples

Ingredients

8thick-cut pork chops (¾-inch)
2 tsp10 mlcumin seeds
2 tsp10 mlsalt
2 tsp10 mlground black pepper
8apples - peeled, cored, and sliced
2 tbsp30 mlvegetable oil
1.5 cups360 mlpork stock

Instructions

Ready in: 23 min Ā· Prep time: 10 min Ā· Cook time: 13 min. Servings: 4/6/8/10 (6 Quart / 8 Quart).

  1. Sprinkle pork chops with cumin, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Select "SautƩ" on pressure cooker; add oil to inner steel pot. Brown chops on one side only, 3 to 5 minutes; put browned chops on a plate. Press Cancel.
  3. Put apple slices into the inner steel pot of pressure cooker. Arrange pork chops onto apples, brown-sides up, overlapping as needed. Pour any juice from the plate over the pork; add stock around the edges.
  4. Close lid and set valve to Sealing. Select Meat/Stew and cook for 10 minutes at High pressure. Set steam vent handle to Venting to quick-release pressure. A thermometer inserted near the center of each pork chop should read at least 145°F (63°C).
  5. Transfer pork chops to a serving platter. Spoon applesauce from pressure cooker over pork chops.

Mealthy Tip: If you can't find pork stock at the grocery store, you can substitute chicken or beef stock instead. Just before serving, top each pork chop with a few additional turns of freshly ground black pepper.
