Quinoa sprouts

You can sprout all kinds of seeds, grains, or legumes. Quinoa is a seed and can easily be sprouted by following the instructions below. The sprouts are delicious served as a garnish or used as the basis for a salad.

Ingredients

white, red, or black quinoa

Instructions

Preparation method:

  1. Rinse the quinoa with cold water and soak in cold water overnight.
  2. Transfer the quinoa to a jar or container and cover with a passing cloth. Fasten the cloth with a piece of string or a large elastic band. This makes rinsing easier later.
  3. Put the jar in a dark place and leave for a day.
  4. Now put the jar in a place that receives a lot of sunlight and leave the quinoa to continue sprouting.
  5. Briefly rinse with cold water every day, pouring off the liquid through the passing cloth that has been fastened.
  6. The sprouts can be eaten raw.

Serving suggestions:

  • As a component in a salad or as part of a roll or sandwich.
  • As a garnish for starters, entremets, and main courses, e.g. with components containing butterhead lettuce, mussels, celery, or chicory.
