Tomato Sauce for Pizza
A quick blended tomato sauce with garlic, onion and herbs for pizza.

Ingredients
| 3 tbsp | 45 ml | olive oil |
| 2 cloves | garlic | |
| 1/2 cup | 120 ml | yellow onion, chopped |
| 1/2 tsp | 2.5 ml | dried oregano |
| 1/2 tsp | 2.5 ml | dried basil |
| 1/2 tsp | 2.5 ml | dried marjoram (optional) |
| 1 tsp | 5 ml | freshly ground black pepper |
| 2 | cans chopped tomatoes, drained (14 oz / 795 g each) | |
| 2 tbsp | 30 ml | tomato paste |
Instructions
- Sauté the garlic, onion and dried herbs in 1 tablespoon of the olive oil for 5 minutes.
- Place the remaining ingredients in the Vita-Mix container in the order listed. Add the sautéed mixture. Secure the 2-part lid.
- Select VARIABLE, speed #1. Turn the machine ON and quickly increase the speed to #5 or #6. Run for 1 to 2 minutes, or until the sauce is as coarse or smooth as desired.
Speed: Variable. Time: 1 to 2 minutes. Yield: 4 cups (960 mL).
Note: This makes enough sauce for 3 to 4 (9-inch/22.5 cm) pizza crusts.
