White Halva
A nougat-style white halva made from whipped egg whites folded into a honey-sugar syrup with toasted nuts.
Ingredients
| 200 g | powdered sugar |
| 200 g | honey |
| — | nuts |
| 2 | egg whites |
| 2 drops | lemon juice |
| 1 pinch | salt |
Instructions
- Whip the chilled egg whites with the salt and lemon juice into a meringue.
- On the stove, melt the honey and sugar until fully combined. Pull off the heat and keep stirring for about 2 minutes until the bubbles disappear.
- Then whip it into the egg whites, pouring it in a slow, thin stream, until you get a thick mixture (the mixer leaves trails).
- Fold the previously lightly toasted nuts into the mixture and pour it into a tray lined with baking paper.
- Place in the refrigerator for a few hours, or an hour and a half in the freezer.
